The Mutt and Jeff of Media Catholicism are at it again.
"....especially when I think of all the wonderful LGBT friends I have."
Oh dear.
"Love means: getting to know LGBT men and women [aka sex deviates]..."
He's getting warmer.
"spending time with them..."
Uh-oh.
"..and wanting them to be a part of your lives..."
Still warmer. I believe Martin is trying to tell us something.
I know what he is telling this writer: if it looks like a duck (see above photo), walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's a duck. "Even after 25 years as a Jesuit [Note to young men with a vocation: you might want to cross the Jesuits off your list.] the level of hatred around homosexuality is nearly unbelievable to me". Someone must have hurt this man's poor, little feelings. It is instructive that he seems inordinately interested in this particular mortal sin. In addition to his personal "predilections", shall we say, Father Martin is instructing us on what he apparently believes is correct theology.
And then there is the Rosica Guy, master of theology and cravenness:
Rosica(l) and kindred spirit, Mr Cupich of Chicago |
"In contrast to the modern-day Pharisees and their followers, true Christians are those who boast in Christ crucified and no other, meaning that they believe that Christ’s work ensured the salvation of all whom He represented and is the only thing that makes the difference between salvation and condemnation. They know that their own efforts form absolutely no part of their acceptance before God. They rest in Christ alone as their only hope, knowing that it is the work of Christ by the grace of God that guarantees salvation."
"....their own efforts form absolutely no part of their acceptance before God"? Mr Rosica will need to clarify that point a little. Is "acceptance" salvation? If not, what does the man mean by acceptance? Acceptance of what? Their sinful selves? And who are the modern day Pharisees? Please advise, Father Rosica. If you are not just spouting gibberish have the courage and the decency to tell us plainly what you are talking about.
In view of these pseudo-doctrinal musings one wonders what vending machine these two clowns got their theology degrees from.
[with thanks to Kitchener Waterloo Traditional Catholic for the Rosica quote.]
We have met the Pharisees and they are "we". Pope Francis told us so, so it must be so...
ReplyDeleteLet these effeminate men move to Syria, or any Islamic country, and experience first-hand what real "hatred" for homosexuals looks like.
ReplyDelete"Hate the Sin, Love the Sinner"? Problem: the "Sin" appears to be no longer such, in the eyes of large tranches of Franciscus, the Curia, et al.
ReplyDeleteHere in the Archdiocese of Boston, Our esteemed Cardinal Sean Omalley recently invited Fr James Martin to speak before the Knights of Malta.....Boston is still a disgrace...even with the recent release of the movie covering the horrific abuse scandal, they just continue on with this agenda ...they are either too stupid to be fearful or they are just too entrenched in this evil lifestyle to care.
ReplyDeleteSo everyone is saved, Fr. Rosica??? Ridiculous!! It is a very wrong and protestant view, you as a Roman Catholic Priest, are pushing. That Jesus did it all and all are saved. How stupid and unCatholic! Your view will send many to hell. May God help you!!
ReplyDeleteWhy trouble with the Catechism (so full of "condemnations, instructions and admonitions") when John Lennon's theology has already made it so clear?

ReplyDeleteToo much money, too much fame, too much heroin.
I think every person should be respected- even the homosexual and the lesbian, but I do not it is correct to encourage the vocation in the Church. If someone who by feeling and struggle a homosexual and becomes a priest and leads a chaste life, all the power to him. Realistically though, recent scandals of sexual abuse by priests with homosexual tendencies or one's with hetereosexual problems show us how messed up people are in general. A priest though, who embraces this the priestly life is also dependent on strong Catholic teaching and wholesome spirituality with counseling in faith. Having heard well-intentioned young men who have left seminaries because of wayward Catholic teaching which is not liveable.
